A PRACTICAL REVIEWDOST GUIDE

How to invite honest customer feedback

A good feedback invitation makes responding easy while leaving the customer in control. Ask about their experience after a real interaction, offer a clear destination and let them decide whether to write or publish a review.

Choose a moment that respects the customer

A receipt, a checkout card or an appropriate post-visit message can make the invitation available without interrupting the service. A café guest, hotel guest and clinic patient may prefer different moments to respond.

Keep the request optional. Google’s policy does not allow pressure to leave a review on the premises or requests for particular content. An incentive or a request for only positive ratings changes the purpose of the invitation.

Use a clear, neutral message

A practical starting point is: “Thank you for visiting [business]. If you would like to share your experience, you can leave honest feedback here: [link]. Your feedback helps us understand what worked and what could improve.”

Personalise the business name and the real interaction, rather than inventing familiarity or promising a reward. Use a language the customer understands. The review request builder on this site creates editable English, Hindi and Hinglish starting points without collecting recipient details.

Give every rating the same next step

Make the invitation available to customers across rating levels. In ReviewDost, a customer can share a rating, add detail, edit a draft and choose whether to continue to Google. A concern does not remove that opportunity.

Useful feedback can include both something positive and something that needs work. Read the written context before deciding what action the business should take.

Use feedback to improve the service

Look for repeated themes, decide on a practical change and compare later feedback. A specific response to a concern can be more useful than a generic thank-you repeated on every review.

For public replies, keep the response relevant and professional. Avoid sharing private customer information. A complex issue may be better handled through the business’s usual private support channel.

Keep measurement precise

Your feedback rating is the average of responses collected in ReviewDost. It is not your Google rating. A Google handoff is an observed click, not an independently verified posted review.

Use both your feedback workspace and Google Business Profile to understand the different parts of the journey. None of these counts guarantees a search position or business result.
